OpenAI and Visa team up to let AI agents make purchases online.
What could possibly go wrong 🤔
fast_uuid: RFC 9562 UUIDs (v1-v8, nil, max) for PHP, generated in pure C. Object API mirrors ramsey/uuid; 11x to 57x faster on generation, 3x to 5x on parsing.
PHP 8.1 through 8.6, NTS or ZTS. Prebuilt binaries for Linux, macOS arm64, and Windows. BSD-licensed.
Thanks to @ramsey for the feedback and suggestions.
Any thoughts on supporting libraries/extensions for PHP versions older than 8.3?
phpser: a fast, HMAC-signed binary serializer for PHP cache workloads.
Faster than igbinary on encode and decode for caches. Its signed mode refuses to decode anything not signed with your key, to keep object-injection out of untrusted caches.

I know a lot of folks here look dimly on AI/LLMs. Fair. I think of it the same way I think of a compiler or a PHP framework: a tool you reach for when it fits the job.
Anyway, sharing two from my dev workflow:
whetstone is a Claude Code plugin that injects planning, testing, and review into the agent loop.
codesage is a Rust binary that gives AI agents a real model of your codebase. Symbol tracing, impact analysis, feature mapping.

Recently brought my php_excel extension back to life. Native C extension for Excel in PHP wrapping LibXL.
2.0 syncs with current LibXL, adds PHP 8.3+ support, 6 new classes (rich text, conditional formatting, form controls, tables, core properties), full typed arginfo, and an actual CI/CD pipeline.
Still 9-10x faster than PhpSpreadsheet, with lower memory use.

Been doing some extension work for PHP, hoping to share some updates as I go ;-)
Interesting (humbling really) getting back to public OSS work after a long break
