@@thomholwerda hiiiii your U45 can run Solaris 11 Express SNV_151a if you want to run a real Solaris that's a little newer than 10 1/13, and I ahve a bunch of packages for 11 Express if you want them

datacenters exist. suck it up, take them back. you're not going to go back to some magical past where they didn't, and isn't that pretty fucking conservative? "There is a designated pure past that the world has diverged from and we must return to" is.................... erm, not very leftist of you

"all data centers are weapons" says someone on here (presumably implying they should be destroyed). that someone probably has a strong local network of friends and probably does not depend on a weave of cloud services to be fucking fed and kept safe and to pay their rent and can probably move independently and oh my gods. fucking fuck right off. we are not going to go back to some magical pre-urban, pre-technology perfect society. the revolution, if it comes (which: lol, so far, I ain't seen a thing), the revolution will be in the cities, because that is where the fucking resources are holy fucking fuck I'm tired of seeing this back-to-the-land shit on the left. righto, so you're just going to leave your enemies with the industrial and logistics base, technology, mass media, weapons, military coordination, transport, stable housing, and everything else? lol. no

have taken a brief break from my OpenH432b project, a Yocto Linux BSP for the Hims Braille Sense U2 notetaker, available here:

Yes, I used AI to create the vast majority of it, please do not yell at me for that.

Status: boot works, nand works (no writeable user data yet), A/B update infrastructure works in the bootloader, no RAUC yet. Internal SD works, external SD tested but not extensively. Ethernet fully works. Wi-Fi works partially, fixed 1Mbit/sec transfer rate ntil the driver is improved. Bluetooth works, but does not yet have full infra, FM radio works, GPS works but canont get a fix in my apartment. speakers and mic work. The braille display and keybvoard fully work, with brltty on the console. the power button, suspend and resume works. Battery and vibration driver works. USB host and client both work. I will be taking a break to recover after that work, then will get back to finishing the BSP and then starting work on the userland

I just heard, on AFN:

> Just remember that that little cat isn't necessarily evil, it just has had some really bad public relations episodes

I have................ so many questions

TWO FUCKING THOUSAND NEW USER REGISTRATION REQUESTS ON THIS FUCKING ISNTANCE HOLY FUCK. And this is why I closed registrations

the US military pays for free taxis for drunk airmen to get home so they don't drink and drive, and no republicans scream about that. a single city starts to think about free public transit and that's called socialism. the fuck?

surprise! kissing @robodoll!

@pixelate

So you know how I said I was gonna do a Linux port to the Braille Sense U2?

Look up that device. it's more cursed than any computer you have ever owned

889789 is a surprisingly hard number to type without mixing the numbers up

good morning fedi!

nini fedi!

I took a look at the job market websites here. still a trashfire. still all of them assume 5+ years with Microsoft AD. like, um, how am I supposed to have 5+ years experience with AD, when you don't have any fucking jobs where I can get the 5+ years experience with AD, you assholes?

I am

uh

gay

You did not build infrastructure, because infrastructure is fascist. Congratulations, you lose.
You did not build structured hierarchy and specific rates / responsibilities? Now nobody knows what they're doing when the shit hits the fan. Congratulations, you lose.
You decided that the ideologically correct next step was to fuck off into the forest and hide from the world? Congratulations, you lose.
You decided to refuse to use AI on ideological and purity grounds? Congratulations, you lose, and now there is fascism at machine-speed and antifascism at human speed and fascism wins, this is just fucking physics, they can flood social media with a thousand LLM-run accounts in 30 seconds and you're still struggling to get 6 people on your fedi. you lose. retroactively you lose, you lose that thoroughly.

The tools created by fascism are loot. to be stolen, repurposed, and used, gleefully, joyfully, to dismantle fascism. Mario Bros coin pickup noises! Sonic ring pikcup noises! All the tech is out there, steal it back! you bloody worked to make it, in many cases! antifascist workers, take the tools you fucking made back!

I am increasingly of the opinion that the leftist concept of "fashware" or "contaminated" software is kind of dumb. a fascist made a decent bit of software? great! Steal it, give him nothing, use it. Otherwise the only ones who have the software are the fascists. same with the "woops this got touched by AI once and now I can't use it" people. the fuck are you going to use? are you going to back yourselves into a fucking corner over purity? congratulations, you lose. categorically, thoroughly, so thoroughly it's impressive. you. lose. All your base are belong to the fascists, except no, they don't, because you didn't fucking build anything, did you, because purity. Fuck.

this seems like something @aurynn might do actually. then again she might have enough taste to, like, not, do that

no Freyja. do not implement fargate. do not make your own fargate. you do not need fargate. you do not need a custom setup involving qemu-microvm and a custom ultra-minimal kernel and an alpine linux base (or a selection of base images) cloned from a read-only base image into a read-write temporary rootfs, with your user binary injected via a virtiofs tag, execed as pid 1, with a per-session outputs directory. you do not need it. do not make it. Freyja you are banned from having shower thoughts. bad Freyja. bad.

oh and set under [hypervisor.dragonball]
