I'm quite excited by my 'Queen of the Night' tomatoes this year. The colors are stunning!

Presently curled up in the cafe car of the Amtrak Floridian, somewhere in the wilds between Pittsburgh and DC, enjoying some coffee and an old Arthur C. Clark book I picked up on my travels. #railtravel #reading

Here's the encouraging thing. While the extremity of space travel makes this more obvious, I dont believe you need to be an astronaut or confined in a small spacs to beneft from this truth.

It's 2026, and I'm unable to sign up for medical benefits because the website is broken.

No system requirements listed, no error information, nothing but a never-ending spinning animation. When I call in, literally the first question I receive is "are you using Firefox? You need to use Google Chrome".

It's a simple web form asking for my zip code, birth date, and SSN. People, this is unacceptable on so many levels.

My new elderberry bushes (planted in the fall) have blossoms! #gardening #nativespecies

Look what little surprise I found in the treeline behind my house!

How long until "AI deleted production and we have a 3 month gap in data" is the new "dog ate my homework" for when you need to make evidence of financial fraud conveniently disappear?

These AI fanatics are not only morons, they are creating an entire new avenues to hide fraud (assuming they're not already participating in that also).

Recently I've had multiple delivery packages mis-routed to 2 other states, multiple hours away. Today it has happened AGAIN to a 3rd state.

It's >3 hours overdue, no notice or updates. The tracking info shows this other random state, but is still to be delivered today. Customer service says they misloaded the package to the wrong hub, but can't tell me when it will arrive. I have to sign for it, but they can't even tell me what day so I can be here.

#ai is making things so much better!

Do I know anyone who has played with #SailfishOS and #PostmarketOS ... and can share their experiences with them as a daily driver?

Also, am I understanding that I could potentially still use apps from #FDroid even if I'm not running a flavor of Android at all?

Yet another reason to hate the AI bubble. I have to wonder: if consumers can afford ram for machines to run all these AI enabled apps on, what do they think is going to happen to their user base?

What brought this to mind is that the group that picks up compost from our house operates in a manner that - well, let me put it this way: we know the name of the person who handles dispatch. She responds to us personally when we request new bags. She just emailed us personally to test out why some automatic mail wasn't working. Sometimes when we forget to take our bin the 20 feet out to the curb, the drivers will just, come get it from where they know it is

This is a municipal service, it's a waste service, but we legitimately love it.

I think that many of us are starved for participation in small-scale systems in which we interact with other humans, and are treated like humans in return

Peaceful. Happy. Respectful. Energetic. All the things #MAGA hates.

The biggest reason I purchased a #framework laptop was longevity & repairability.

But they're a small company who just bifurcated their entire user base in less than 24 hours and then doubled-down on it. Even if I wasn't offended that the higher premium I paid (and would be spending in the future for additional hardware, parts, etc) is going to fund, in part, active hatred and harm I would now be extremely concerned with their long term ability to provide those parts as a viable business.

Hey #MAGA - before you ever utter the words "violence is never the answer" again you had best denounce the violence-obsessed military circle-jerk going on right now in #Quantico.

Not surprised to see this from an AI-bro company, but so sad to see they have fallen so far from their CERN-adjacent roots. Not happy by predictions about them were right, but I am happy that I kicked them to the curb awhile ago.

I saw this ad on YouTube so I reported it under violent, dangerous, or harmful content, citing it as "a terrorist organization targeting American citizens".

I know it wont do anything, but it did feel cathartic.

Walking my son through his first #linux install with #bazzite 🎉

Spending this Father's Day rebuilding my Zigbee network. All devices removed, moved my base configuration from ZHA to Zigbee2MQTT with some new docker containers, and now begin the job of re-adding everything to the new setup.

It's a glorious way to spend the day :)
