I will be starting 2027 in Singapore for iOS Conf SG.
Check this out - they have worked to get the ticket price down to S$60. It was already a bargain but this is just amazing.

Does Swift have the equivalent of a Java Gatherer? The ability to add a custom intermediate operator in a functional pipeline?
Is there any reason to preorder Apple TV? Ie do we expect them to not be easily available in stores?
The GOP's ongoing success is an indictment of journalism, in and of itself. I don't know why they don't see it that way.
Grrrr - I’ve been to a bunch of talks on architecture and BDD at #dev2next and I’m thinking of re-architecting my Top Tracks app. Oh who am I kidding- I’m thinking of architecting it. There’s no “re” involved.
I know no one uses the app but I’ve learned so much writing and maintaining it
Also does swift testing have a favorite property based test framework (like quick) that works with swift testing
Is there a current preferred BDD framework (cucumber - given when then) for using with swift testing?
I have an Apple Dev site question. When I log in it sends a message to trusted devices. Now I have a new Mac and phone and don't get notified on them but my watch does. How do I add my Mac and phone?
Talking about concurrency in Swift at #dev2next at 4. I expect it to be an intimate gathering as there aren’t many Apple platforms folks here

Imagine if the device had launched with content like this and sports broadcasts

I strongly agree with this and think it should be much sooner than one month before.
I imagine it is difficult and risky to be a conference organizer - but even a "we don't know yet" is better than no news at all

I expect Caitlin to be worth the price of admission - but you also (as she points out) get so much more!

Mom: What's with these AIs escaping and hacking people?
Me: You park your car at the top of a hill. You leave a note on the dashboard that says "please be good" and then you pull the parking brake. The car careens down the hill, smashes everything up, and you put out a press release saying "My car ignored my instructions! It hallucinated! It went rogue!" Your insurance company not only believes you, but invests $100 million in your company.
Mom: Jesus Fucking Christ
An Open Letter To The People Writing Lengthy Posts About 'Why I'm Going Back to Twitter'
Research question- does a graphic novel about a topic - say math - need characters in it. Often there’s a person teaching the material illustrated in it
After the recent reorganization in VPG, I’m leaving my job at Apple. Which means that I’m looking for a new job!
I’m looking for a senior or staff-level software engineering role, particularly where my experience with Swift, Objective-C, UI frameworks, Apple platforms, and large, complex software systems can be useful.
I’m looking for something in the SF Bay Area, something remote or something back in Belgium.

Boosts (or job offers!) would be appreciated!
One of my favorite Paula Poundstone jokes is that adults are always asking kids what they want to be when they grow up because they’re looking for ideas.
I’ll be asking myself this in earnest in December after I’m done with conferences for the year.
