TIL Postgres core team members are using Claude for code analysis. These are people that have been contributing for 15+ years.

I understand OSS maintenance can be overwhelming at the best of times, but I think getting more people interested and contributing to the conversation would be beneficial in the longer term than directly offloading work to tools.

The secret sauce is learning the skills to analyse legacy code.

I suppose it's better than using it for writing new code 😑

Once the AI boom tapers off or crashes, there's going to be plenty of cheap NPUs. The next big startup ideas will revolve around how to repurpose all this computing power for medicine and healthcare.

Periodic reminder about utility devices that connect to cloud. If the cloud service is having hiccups, you lose the ability to control the device. This is not the future I envisioned.

Cloud must be a value add-on, not mandatory. All devices must be mandated to operate locally without internet, this is why we need stricter government regulation but nobody in the government really cares about these things :|
