Finished reading @Unixbigot 's POST stories vol. 1 and 2, very satisfying! I definitely recommend them for a quick evening read.

My cat's antidepressant prescription comes with a free toy every month. Human pharmacies, take note.

Ready to compete in the latest Olympic events:

currently obsessed with Cheeto, the chonky orange cat who lives around the physics building at UC Davis, who not only has a department webpage and a Wikipedia page, but also has a RateMyProfessor page with 331 ratings for his course Loaf 101.

Behold, my first book! (said Tufty nervously)

A Star Trek-inspired novel featuring an engineer reliving her Academy days in an effort to escape a future life that is overworked and underappreciated… Too bad her captain is here to drag her back kicking and screaming.

Meowy Kitsmas! I made myself one (1) piece of French toast as a treat. ^.^ It came out great!

Last but not least... Take care of yourself! Mask up, it shows you care both about your own health and that of others around you. (and it really irritates some dogs) #BecomeUngovernable #BeACat

Check in on your friends, we're all hurting, but "shared pain is lessened, shared joy, increased" in the words of Spider Robinson. See if there's anything you can do to help. Walk them home, stand with them, speak up for them. #BecomeUngovernable #BeACat

Speak up! Be disappointed in people making bad choices. Let them know when they are wronging yourself or others. Too often silence is taken for consent. We are cats, we have a right to complain loudly.

If someone asks you to do something terrible, ask for it in writing. Ask if they're sure they want to break laws, regulations, moral standards, or besmirch the company's reputation. If you must do it, take your time. Maybe they will change their mind before you're done.

I have finally managed to cook a tasty oyakodon! (chicken and egg rice bowl)

In honor of the New Year, I have made lion's head meatballs! (no actual lion contained) They actually came out pretty well!

Verdict: not bad but too much liquid makes it too thin, it wasn't coming together into the promised gravy. I should try reducing the liquid next time.

I have attempted making coq au vin with mashed potatoes!

Made chicken pot pie today, following (mostly) the recipe at https://www.pressurecookingtoday.com/instant-pot-pressure-cooker-chicken-pot-pie/

Quiche Lorraine! One of the few times I've made a quiche in a while. Not shown: the awful, misshapen crust. The white bits are diced Gouda cheese.

Kitsmas Eve dinner: duck l'orange, a first time making this! It's pretty decent, needed a bit of salt which I'll remedy next time.

Asides from that I read a bunch of SF&F, both on Kindle and on Patreon and Royal Road as serials. I love stories with galactic traders, diplomats, cooks, and other offbeat professions.

#introduction I used to do furry art, now I'm writing. I'm raiding in WoW and casual-ing in FF14. My first book is Star Trek-inspired with furries: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GH96ZMLS or https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-timecrossed-engineer-back-to-school?sId=4ae2a85c-8dd3-41fd-a2b9-792a8d3bdcd3&ssId=YAAeJ5Ht69Q1ArU9mq4bd&cPos=1
