@bagder For your collection :)

Putting an #LLM-based #AI chat bot with access to critical account recovery procedure is going as well as you'd expect...

Hello fedi!

I have an .MVAX #firmware #update file for an MV Silicon chip (unknown model).

Has someone already encountered those? And if yes, is there some documentation, tooling or existing #ReverseEngineering work done of that format?

For the record, the file magic (first 6 bytes) is as follow:
4D 56 B5 58 05 01 13 00

And the end of the file contains the following:

MVSKeyFileMVBP10 0x90 0xBE SIMPLEs
0x D3 0x9A . 0x90 0xD9
MVSILICONKEYFL
0x00 0x00 0xFF 0xBD 0x00 0x00

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Are you being tracked when you visit your government's websites?

Probably!

We (@sachindhke, Faisal Mahmud, Sandra Siby, and I) have a new paper appearing at PETS (the Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium) next July that looks at government websites from 61 countries over the last 29 years.

Today, about 50% of government websites in the countries we looked at contain web trackers, most of those third-party (ie. run by organizations other than the website itself). This number has been growing over the last few decades.

Hey @kde, I just wanted to thank all the #KDE contributors. I love the look of my #KDEPlasma6 desktop!

As developers, we often hear (angry) users when things don't work, but rarely happy users when everything goes well. So here is that, just a message of appreciation to y'all :)

A few security vulnerabilites where patched in git 2.50.1, it is hence highly recommended to update your software!

This is wrong on so many points D:

In a move that has left drivers both frustrated and bewildered, Stellantis has introduced full-screen pop-up ads on its infotainment systems. Specifically, Jeep owners have reported being bombarded with advertisements for Mopar’s extended warranty service. The kicker? These ads appear every time the vehicle comes to a stop.

Yes, there is definitely something fishy about the DDoS and hack agains the Internet Archive.

Link because I can't boost:

And it disappeared right away, I just had enough time to make a screenshot.

What the hell mastodon?
Why do I have popups in my feed?

@jerry Hello! Sorry to bother you;
I noticed that Markdown posts are no available anymore. Is this intentional, or was is caused by a glitch-soc update?

Is there a way to disable video loop on #glitchsoc instances? That "feature" is quite annoying.

For context: If you search for "OBS studio" on Google, there are tons of sponsored links in the top results, which redirect to phising websites distributing malware. The real (legit) website only appears way later.

This is probably crazy, but hear me out...
What if, before Google pushes a paid advertisement link at customers, they checked with the Google-owned VirusTotal site to confirm that the site isn't distributing known malware?
You know, to at least pretend that they care...
