What do you mean the most powerful army on earth "ran out of missiles" in a war of choice with a regional power?

The US saw Russia losing naval assets to a country without a navy and went "we can do one better" and keeps losing planes to a country without an air force

Lenin failed to predict that the West would one day become too stupid to do imperialism

Now I know I'm old because how are there actual children talking about how great 2016 was when that's probably the only year whose most well known quality is that it was terrible and probably the year the timeline diverged into the hellworld we inhabit today

Zohran Mamdani may just the be the best to have ever played the game

What stage of hellworld is it where you just straight up call for your political opponents to be hanged? Lol

I hate Democrats, but it is satisfying watching Republicans get clean swept in what may be the last free elections this country ever sees

Reze would absolutely destroy Bakugo because Bakugo has explosive compounds in his blood and Reze, as the bomb devil, has control over, and can spontaneously combust all bombs. Bakugo would show up, explode instantly, and be dead.

This is not even about Bakugo being weak. It is simply a bad matchup

What I love about the writing this season is that Donald Trump has been a rapist this entire time. Bringing back an earlier part of his character arc after all this time was a smart move

Netanyahu and Trump took Iran, a country that does not have nuclear weapons, was not making them, and was actively cooperating with the IAEA and negotiating with the West on some settlement for its nuclear program, and turned it into a country that a) will never cooperate with international institutions again b) never negotiate with the West again c) probably definitely thinks it needs a nuclear weapon now d) has secured allies in Russia and Pakistan that will make that happen

People HATE Muslims dude, holy shit

Zohran Mamdani winning the NYC Democratic primary is proof that there are dozens of us in this country who haven't completely lost the plot

Ngl seeing footage of this fucking army parade, followed immediately by "a special thanks to our sponsor, Palantir" and "this message is brought to you by Lockheed Martin" actually like did something to me. It's been over but it's never been more over than right now

Elon broke up with his boyfriend during pride month and now the entire United States of America doesn't get a space program

Israeli politicians and media figures openly talk about exterminating all life in Gaza. Some of them even quote Hitler while doing so. The entire Gaza strip has turned into a mechanized death camp funded by the United States.

But South Africa is a genocidal state because the unity government of truth and reconciliation talks about land reform sometimes.

Okay

I'm thinking about the Uber route share thing, which is just a bus except there's at most only two other passenger at a time, which will actually make traffic worse because there are so few people per trip, and thus, your commute worse than if those people had just taken the bus, but at least the only people on route share are people who can afford to Uber every day and that apparently makes it worth it?

Makes no sense

Unfortunately, a necessary consequence of a public service being available to everyone is that some of the people using the service will be poor. Some may even be a little smelly. Do we decide to not build an objectively better world because some people are smelly some of the time?

First of all, in terms of Gaza specifically, it is super disingenuous to frame this as we were mad Kamala Harris "didn't do enough on Gaza", because that implies Biden/Harris were doing something for Palestinians, but not enough for us personally. This totally misses the point. They were active participants in the genocide. If you unconditionally arm a genocidal entity, which is what they were doing, the end result is genocide (2/x)

I saw another post on here by a liberal, casting leftists as people waiting around for the perfect candidate, waiting around for revolution etc etc. And usually I simply yell and people and call them stupid, but I thought this time I would try to document in a thread all the reasons why this line of thinking is wrong (1/x)

Wow. Imagine how much more damage Elon Musk could have done to society if he was even a little intelligent or likeable. Things certainly aren't great now. But, in a way, we really dodged a bullet there
