One of the most metal non-metal songs. It's a song about a heretic feeling nothing but pride and happiness for the experience of living a life as they are being burnt at the stake.

@buffyleigh P.S. on a related note of not all rural Alberta being right wing: I also bought a rainbow lettering Blindman brewing Pride hat.

I was very heartened when @buffyleigh and I stopped for a beer at Blindman Brewing in the small farming/7th day Adventist college town of Lacombe, Alberta and saw all the Canadian flags and Forever Canadian unity lawn signs. It's not true that all rural Albertans are separatists.

Just got in an argument with a librarian who said we should stop focusing on discovery, or databases, or teaching search skills because they are all irrelevant outside of the niche use case of a systematic review, as students and faculty only ever use AI and nobody uses discovery or databases or library resources at all anymore.

Here I am arguing against AI at work again. I'm So tired of arguing with librarians about AI. The tide seems to be turning (at least at MPOW) with most librarians being pro-AI and pretty loud about it, or at least the pro-AI hype crowd is getting more and more vocal.

I'm so tired of being "that guy" and getting back up on my soapbox again.

The Internet Archive has been working on a Myspace music archive project trying to preserve some of the best (and worst) underground emo, screamo, emoviolence, power-violence, post-hardcore, metal, metalcore and other underground music that used myspace to share their music in the late 90's early 2000's and isn't available anymore and was lost from myspace https://archive.org/details/@jbintner0947

I had never heard of Rhododendron before but i'm digging it. Post-hardcore, Math-rock, jazz-core type of thing. not my usual jam, but i think @buffyleigh might be into this

Upper Kananaskis lake

In Canmore with a sick doggo who was up (and kept us up) all night with diarrhea and vomiting. Poor Kira.

This is at the top of the highest paved road in Canada. Highwood Pass, in Kananaskis country, Peter Lougheed provincial park.

2 grizzlies sat on the highway and blocked it. That's a new experience. There was a 3rd smaller bear off to the side

Remembering that the thoughts aren't me. The thoughts think themselves. They aren't even real.

Booked a glamping tent in the mountains for thanksgiving weekend with @buffyleigh and now it's supposed to snow 20cm on Saturday, with a high of -1 degree and -9 overnight.

Oh boy. i'm not ready for this yet ❄️

If you're into atmospheric black metal and haven't checked out Liminal Shroud, you really should. I think they are one of the best Canadian black metal bands. Shockingly they are from Victoria, BC (and not from Quebec where most of our black metal comes from)
