correction, the new train arrives one minute *early* and the announcer wanted to point that out :3

the new train is arriving on time, ca. 5 minutes ahead of the old one according to the app \o/

(the old train also *almost* managed to make up its delay, it has 3 minutes left ^^)

Erfurt der Willy Brandt ans Fenster Ort

I switched trains

reached the new train without issue and plenty of time to spare

now we'll find out if it really makes it to Berlin first ^^ having only one more stop in between (Halle) rather than three (Leipzig, Bitterfeld, Lutherstadt Wittenberg) ought to help

also I figured they must have a good reason for making this train wait for us ^^ maybe the other one gets fuller? idk

(the train manager(?) told us about the waiting train several times but stopped short of giving a recommendation)

the other train is still expected to reach Berlin first, ca. 11 minutes earlier now 🤔

chat do I switch trains or stay on this one

plot twist! announcer also just told us the train will wait for us

now, do I still want to use it or not…

projected changeover time is now -1 minute, so yeah, almost certainly not happening ^^

currently the projection is 4 minutes delay in Erfurt, which would leave 5 minutes for the changeover (from platform 1 to 10, so a bit of a walk); we'll see if it gets better – the Zugbindung stays aufgehoben either way :blobfox3c:

ka-ching!

I'm now on my way back from Munich to Berlin!

I'm on a train that will go straight to Berlin, and yet my ticket requires me to get out in Erfurt, wait ca. 9 minutes, then board another ICE train to Berlin. supposedly this actually gets me there a few minutes faster; more importantly, this was a bit cheaper than just staying on the train to Berlin :P

Happy 6 year (and 1 day) anniversary to one of the most unhinged posts I’ve ever made: the HTML5 accelerator card

it’s part of a system

what if we removed and added SSL here together,,

unscheduled stop in Bitterfeld :o

for less than a minute – we started moving again just as the announcement was wrapping up in English ^^

(I didn’t get a photo of the train arriving because I was busy investigating the public piano one level up that someone was playing :o )

(it’s roughly above platforms 3/4, section F–G, which isn’t where I usually arrive. I should look again next time)

only the back half of the train is gay but fortunately that’s the one I’m in :P
