noob here. i'd like to try @chimera because big yay to anti-slop distro with a DE that is good (sorry elementary :blobcatgiggle: just personal preference)
but am bamboozled by there not being an installer icon after booting into the live usb. looked at the install instructions on their website and it's not parseable for me (this is just a thing with my brain getting very overwhelmed with reading too much stuff it doesn't understand).
am i missing something or does Cimba hav to look elsewhere?

#askfedi
-is there a library for music keyboard accompanyment styles or does somebody have an idea how to scrape them from my keyboard? (i never got Pootute to work eventhough the Medeli A800 should support it and even if it did it only exposes the user styles, not the inbuilt ones)
-once i have the styles, is there a vst plugin for my DAW to trigger them? or even just a standalone software player with MIDI input?

#askfedi i have a broken musical keyboard an want to reverse engineer the keyboard matrix circuit, ideally so that i can somehow connect a PC keyboard and use that as the input to play notes somehow.
i have no experience in hardware or software hacking. how do i go about this?

Q&A:
-yes the Keyboard has a MIDI input but i'm unable to trigger styles through that.
-no i don't want to wire a new piano keyboard to the chassis.

naturally 97%ish of my followers are trans*. what i didn't expect is how i have more dead trans* beings following me than cis people.... society is a fuck :blobcat_flopdaze:

if you're cis, how bout you pay some attention and protect queers (beyond just showing up as a spectator to pride)

Andrew Lee aka. realrasengan is an AI- and Crypto bro. Also he's the "Crown and reigning monarch" of "JOSEON" which proclaims itself to be "a sovereign, recognized juristiction, reborn for the internet age" "Ths world's first internet nation." (it's some kinda Blockchain NFT bullshit)
personal recommendation: do not use Bmail (Partner and Sponsor of @linuxmint )

the only reason a video game needs its own, ingame screenshot function (seperate from steam's or that of your OS/a third pary app) is if it saved the game state, not an actual picture, and let you change graphics settings afterwards, letting you render the image prettier (or for example in UHD when you're playing at 1080p or 1440p).
However, no game i know has ever implemented screenshots like that :blobcatpeek2:

if i wanna develop an android app with as little crappy dev software as possible and as an absolute noob with no experience in coding, where do i start?

after 4+ years of using linux almost daily (not counting my android phones) this is my very first kernel panic! (i have absolutely no idea what it wants to tell me :blobcatgooglyshrug: )
i assume on this 2005 laptop it probably has something to do with a hardware issue..

simple but important (to me) poll:
do you experience a shift in perceived time speed sometimes? for example when you listen to music and suddenly it sounds lower and slower or higher and faster and sometimes back again?
i wanna find out if 1. i'm the only one with this. and 2. if it has something to do with my chronic fatigue and or shifts in stress/ dopamine levels that may cause it...

@GrapheneOS still the best android rom out there tho :blobcatheart:

hey, @GrapheneOS , i don't know how this whole git stuff works so could you create an issue "social media person is too personally offended by anything remotely negative towards grapheneOS"?

everytime i've seen you comment on anything i felt like if i mention, for example, mp4 playback being broken and asking for advice, you'd lash out at me for how wrong i am trying to use mp4 in the first place and how "insecure" and "misaligned with your mission" that is...

i don't like the new design of @GrapheneOS qwq
i didn't think "[something] UI-Picker [something]" in the changelog meant the whole UI would change :blobcatsad:
