Red's Java House. Serving fish and chips, pancakes, and burgers with mustard, pickles, onions, and melty cheese on sourdough bread for nearly 70 years. No lettuce, no tomato, no substitutions. Everything exactly as Red intended 🙄
Hey Bob! Watch me spin!

Yay it's Fleet Week in San Francisco, where high above the Embarcadero the Blue Angels have just begun to dazzle...
Hmmmm...
*looks closely*

And a friendly reminder: there are only 22 days until Halloween and 77 days until Christmas.

This is my favorite photo.
I took it 14 years ago, at a Carnaval celebration in the Mission and published it here once, in black and white. Posted and done. End of story.
Well not quite.
A couple of weeks ago I went back to my Lightroom catalog, took another look, and decided the photo looked much better in color. So here it is. A moment frozen in time.
I'm going to pin this for a while to remind myself to go out and take more street photos... because that is something that makes me really happy.

Arm Day. Leg Day.
I debated whether to post this but I'm feeling somewhat not-shy at the moment. Plus I'm out of artsy-fartsy pictures to publish today 🙃 so you get a personal post instead.
A little over 2 years ago, after recovering fully from chemo, radiation, and four surgeries, I started hitting the gym hard. Then Chris joined the gym and now, with him keeping us honest, my workouts have become even longer and harder. We do 2 hours, religiously, every other day.
I figure over the past 2 years I've done 35,000 sit-ups and 180,000 other reps/exercises. I've also lost 16 lbs. (or 2.5 times that much if we were on Jupiter).
Bottom line: I ache... but I'm really proud of how far I've come. Life is going good.
That said, I also have a consultation with a new surgeon in a couple of weeks. My butt oncologist found something new that has to be checked out. She warned me that, like a man with a hammer who sees every problem as a nail, surgeons like to do biopsies. We will see. 🤞
Judgey Cat
Also the thing that happens when I try to photograph birds.
Sigh.
San Francisco is just like Paris, only sexier, non?
Yes yes, we went to Folsom yesterday.
It was 👍
Only 90 days until Christmas, people.
So get shopping, okay?
Is looking for tasty snacks.
Serious photographer (don't laugh!)
Folsom Street Fair, September 21st, 2014.
My dating profile at the time read: "interests include eating, sleeping, cleaning, and watching TV. I also like to take long walks on the beach with my cat."
I'll probably going to the street fair again this coming Sunday, but probably not in full gear.
