Ok, which one of you spawned a black hole in Weert??

Credit to @tummyena for the image I shamelessly stole from her.

Hmm, I guess there's just no weather in most of the Netherlands right now...

Is there anyone in the Netherlands, Belgium or Ruhr region who can offer a bed and food to a trans/intersex friend in need? She is escaping from her abusive family in Portugal. She has been staying here with me for some time, but for legal/rent/spoons reasons she can't stay here any longer.

We've been trying for weeks to find shelter for her, and have not found anything. The police isn't helping. If she can't find somewhere to stay within a week, then she has to either return to her family, or end up on the street.

Additionally, if there is anyone in the Netherlands who can provide (temporary) support or aid, that would also be very welcome.

We have now contacted ILGA and Opus Diversidade in Portugal. Would still be very thankful for any other leads or offers for help.

I would especially appreciate contacts in the Portuguese queer/activist communities, if you happen to be part of that or know someone who is.

Because of her identity and issues, she cannot simply be put in any shelter, she needs specialised care. She was housed in a government-sponsored shelter before, which housed her with *men* and she was attacked by one of them. She refuses to go back to those shelters. She also cannot go back to her "family". She is effectively homeless.

I am providing the only shelter and monetary support that she has right now. But I am on a disability budget myself, also struggling to stay afloat both financially and mentally, and can't keep doing this. It's urgent that she can go somewhere as soon as possible to relieve my own limited means/spoons.

My friend is a Portuguese citizen whose only current residency is with her "family". She is a victim of domestic abuse and long-term sexual exploitation at the hands of said family. She is heavily traumatised, self-harmy and at times suicidal. She is also trans, intersex, autistic, disabled.

She has now been staying with me in the Netherlands for almost three weeks. We still haven't really been able to find a solution. She doesn't seem to be eligible for refugee status here, but we also don't know where in Portugal she would be safe. I do not feel ok sending her back without some kind of guarantee of appropriate shelter.

TIL and everyone else needs to know this exists:

There's not a whole lot yet, but it is a wiki. And there's plenty of knowledgeable people here, I'm sure.

Found a @Violet at GPN!

A queer friend in Portugal is currently stuck in a domestic abuse situation. Her belongings have been stolen from her. Police sided with the abuser. She is disabled and seizure prone and can't easily travel. But she also really needs a safe place rather urgently.

I'm not really good with organising this kind of thing, and I'm halfway across Europe. She also thinks that she's a burden and finds it difficult to accept help. Throwing this out here hoping that someone will have ideas.

Them: Plurality isn't real, it can't hurt you.
Our brain:

Is it possible that the reason we have difficulty figuring each other out is that nobody actually wants to be a separate individual (due to anxiety or otherwise) and they prefer to all see themselves as part of me? It does feel like the singlet identity is a shield, and embracing individuality is scary.

In other systems it seems like headmates readily identify who they are, they have an intuitive sense of their own personhood. But for us that rarely seems to be the case and everyone is just unsure of themselves. With a few notable exceptions in the past.

It makes it very tricky to figure everyone out. Because even when headmates potentially front again, they don't recognise themselves or remember who they were from last time. Like there's no continuity of identity between frontings. At best they can identify that they are different from the previous fronter.

TIL that Github does not have IPv6. Which is pretty ridiculous for anytime in the last decade, but in 2026, for a site that big and important? Better go to Codeberg...
