Also btw, the recent netflix adaptation of the Babysitters Club had no business being as good as it was and if you loved the books as a kid it is a heady nostalgia kick.

I loved the Dark is Rising, but (as weird as this is to stay) I think it was genuinely too complicated to do as a story for movies (the film adaptation was -awful- but I don't know how you could do it justice?)Like, a very important character in the books is literally a judas analogue, and he is the -only one in the story- who thinks his betrayal is unexpected is him- the others have future knowledge!
There's a layered morality angle that just doesn't scream 'for kids'
But it is.
