I am further down the congotronics rabbit hole now and wish to also recommend that everyone listens to Kasai Allstars second album Beware the Fetish. Traditional call and response vocals and Conolese rumba-style guitars combined with electrified percussion made from salvaged junk and played through jury rigged amplification systems. It’s awesome!!
