Aug 22, 2026, 8:45 PMSo, when the Canadian government said that the US had added last-minute stipulations to the new trade deal, I figured it was more Art of the Deal bullshit; stupid demands thrown in while the other party just wants to get things finished.
It turns out the demands were quite material, basically restricting Canada's tariff policies to match the US ones on certain goods. Canada couldn't make trade deals with other countries without US permission. No fucking way.
