I had no idea how much plastic I was using until we started recycling it. I take stuff down to the plastic bin at least twice as often as I do to the paper bin or glass bin, and the general waste bin only fills up at half the rate of even those.

Why all this plastic?

I think I just saw a case of #TragedyOfTheCommons in action.

Local retail park has three #supermarkets sharing one carpark. Two of them are new and have those coin op trolleys, the other, been there for years with no problems, just sensibly lets people take the cart and return it without deposit.

Everyone shopping in the newer markets are nicking those free trolleys and ignoring their own. Old supermarket is running out of trolleys, and is now probably going to add coin deposit boxes.

Did you know that if you buy those hairless #kiwi fruits, then you can just eat the skin? Just bite right into them like an #apple. I am never eating hairy ones with a spoon ever again (apparently, if you are the smoothie making type, you can dump the hairy skins in the smoothie mixer for extra #fiber).
