One more… the lighthouse at Gatteville, le phare de Gatteville. 75m tall, 11,000 hand cut granite blocks and 365 steps. Quite a view from the top!

Cracking few days bike packing around Normandy before the Barfleur ferry service stops running between Poole and Cherbourg. Amazing weather, friendly people and awesome food

Fresh bar tape is definitely a fresh morning job

Cracking local loop this evening. Promised I’d be back before dark and just about made it

Oh and this was the traffic

AI doing its thing… Thursday’s ride was 70km…. 🤷‍♂️

A couple of pics from a little bike packing trip around Dorset over the weekend. We took the train to Upwey (just outside Weymouth) and cycled 110km off road across Ridges, Bridle Paths and old Roman Roads back to Poole

A pin mirror also works well, perhaps better

Amazingly for an astronomical event in the U.K. there are no clouds

Not too late to build a pin hole camera with whatever you have lying around. The greater the distance from the pin to the projecting surface, the larger the image…

I just wired an an outdoor rj45 network cable and it worked first time. Stopping now. #SmallWins

Have been experimenting with #signoz in the #homelab as a possible replacement for #grafana #prometheus #loki #fluentbit. Early results across the #kubernetes cluster are positive - metrics, logs, dashboards and alerts tested. Before I start a more thorough test ahead of migration, does anyone have any experiences to share? Really like the idea of queries and logs with SQL, are there any other tools I should be considering?

A little pic from this morning’s Purbeck Dawn ride.

One more from today’s shortest day ride

Shortest Day 😃

Lost a rook ceph node this week, most likely power supply related. Moved the drives to another shell, boot and back in business 😃

Now to work out what has failed and why……

The battery on my existing APC unit is not supposed to be user replaceable (although they are youtube videos on how to)… Any recommendations on what might work instead?

Thanks!
