thinking something like this would be cute. the napping fox signals that it's ok to relax

in fact @jeremyoduber did this right at the start of his latest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c156GXrgjPw

and i was very glad to see it in his video even though i already know he doesn't use AI

in fact i'm going to mock up a concept to commission a cute version of this from an artist right now

tbh if you're someone making videos on YT especially making videos about things you made using coding on YT it might be worthwhile to lead with a "made by humans, no generative AI was used in the creation of this video/game/whatever" splash screen

when i think about the time before AI slop

too many people think code is a binary (mind the pun) in that it either works or it doesn't, when really it's a spectrum from "does it blow up (almost) every time" to "this will never have an issue"

code that looks like it works can only *mostly* work, and that's often the worst code of all

this is a post about AI

poll for programmers only

are you a game developer or not? do you like AI for coding?

the php security vuln and random number 4 make me excited to see how much worse stuff like this will be when every codebase is filled to the brim with slop code

so goldman sachs upgraded coreweave and that only managed to cause a short rebound which was wiped out again by the end of the day?

is that good

datestamp reads "4 years ago"

my brain: oh so like 2016 right ....... you mean like 2016 right? D:

"Mastodon is getting a new look"

jesus christ again?

About 11 hours left to pick this up

If you dislike AI please stop saying that AI can code now. AI can't fucking code. Just because it can generate code that works for some very loose definition of the word works doesn't mean it can code because coding is so much more than that. Please, I'm begging you, you do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to them

i remember years ago i tried to switch to duckduckgo from google cause yanno google was like "actually lets be evil" and i couldn't do it because ddg didn't reliably show (the good) stack exchange answers

now i just use ddg since stack exchange is dead anyway and also i hope google tanks hard enough when the AI bubble bursts and they go bankrupt that their head spins fast enough they get launched straight into the fucking sun

man. stack exchange. y'all remember when stack exchange existed and was relevant?

So BSD is not ensloppified? Is that right? What's the difference between Linux and BSD

idk man i feel like continuing to be able to program without going "programming is hard :(" will really help me with my competitive position going forward

ok so like is it just me or have manufacturers slowly stopped putting sufficient padding into products that really need padding so they don't hurt you(r ass) over the last 20 years

anyway if you use unreal engine you should probably take this as a sign of things to come, sorry

Actually just incredibly funny for Epic to literally go "programming is hard :(" in an official statement
