Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro.
It's a loss for Trump.
For Musk.
For Milei.
For Netanyahu.
For Farage.
For Meta and Zuckerberg.
For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters.
And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.
@georgemonbiot.bsky.social We need a second part for "the invisible doctrine" about the platform capitalism.
Amazing that an 80-year-old President can win reelection without publicly obsessing over another man's ass.
Edit: to be clear, it's bizarre to publicly obsess over anyone else's body, regardless of gender or body part.
It’s definitely a relief over the alternative, but let’s not pretend the meat barons lost here. Lula’s trips to Beijing were heavily focused on expanding Brazilian beef exports and securing new licenses for major meatpackers like JBS. Deforestation policy improved, but the agribusiness lobby is still driving the agenda.
