EDIT: Solved now, went with Claw-Mail, which meets my needs exactly both in feature set and UX, thanks everyone (except you. You know who you are.)

Is there a #Linux desktop GUI email client that doesn't Fucking Suck?

I'm getting pretty tired of having to periodically check my Gmail tab, and also I want to start using my own email domains for more things, and the webmail for those sucks.

Last time I had this impulse I tried Thunderbird and fucking hated it. Particularly because it took me the better part of a day to stop it loading on boot.

I'm looking for something lightweight with a fairly traditional UI.

My first experience with institutional email was with Novell software, and it remains the most comfy I've ever used, if that helps

One of the recs I got in reply to this was... Thunderbird.

It came from exactly the instance you would expect that sort of response to come from, obviously.

Even if I didn't explicitly say I don't like Thunderbird, it is excluded right off the bat by "lightweight with a fairly traditional UI"
