22nd of Owltober!
It's Chewbacca in Owl form. Perth Wildlife Hospital posted this Australian Boobook with the caption "The look I give the vet nurse before I receive medication for my eye ulcerations." Want to donate to PWH? https://www.pwh.org.au/donate/ Source: https://fb.com/4326788047353227 #owlsintowels 💛🦉

An Australian Boobook owl has a glorious mane of feathers bursting from chin and chest, mostly hazel with streaks of honey and ginger. There's a deep earthy-brown mask around the outer sides of his eyes and a flash of cream across his beak and brow. Irises are dark grey-green like kombu seaweed. The rest of him is obscured by the platinum blue towel in which he's wrapped. A second yellow towel is laid behind. His expression is one of suspicion, and perhaps a little frustration at being unable to recoil his head from the photographer further than it already is.
