    @joyfulcarla

    I've been rereading her books, the last couple years. I read them all when I was a teenager, and they shaped my life

    Currently reading the early Hainish novels. It's interesting to see how she was writing about what comes after collapse, from the very beginning

    @joyfulcarla I bounced off of Always Coming Home a long time ago (25+ years?) and haven't tried again since. I should give it a go again!

    Always Coming Home is my deep favorite of hers. It's hard to find someone else who has even read it!

    Emile, it contains a novel that is interspersed with chapters on material technology. You can just read the parts you want

    I think the first time I read it I started out reading everything, and I eventually shifted to just reading the novel, because that was what spoke to me at the time. When I reread it last year, I read the whole thing in order. But you definitely don't have to do it that way!

    And yes it seems so unique to me! But then when I started to read Moby Dick I realized....
