tl;dr "are LLMs concious" is not the question. What the absolute fuck happened or was done to pervert the membership and actor safety instincts we developed over millions of years is. Empathy is fucking precious. It's our own survival. Directing it correctly is a matter of life and death. And it's been redirected.
