    might be a language barrier here, but the article is about a majority not being allowed to vote or their vote being discarded (no secondary option, if your first choice doesn't reach a threshold)

    non voters are only 1 of 4 unrepresented groups - and not the largest share

    And why do the votes of those who voted for "other" parties nothing to say?

    Join another party. A political party is a bus. None of them go to your door, or the florist. Some walking will be needed.

    What will 12 year olds do if not voting? Carry leaflets, collate packages, make phone calls, organize youth groups on issues, change their name to Greta, or a myriad of other democratic actions contributing to communication and choices.

    All of this is good political work, yes.

    But still, your answer to the article by fragdenstaat makes no sense. They made an article and show the numbers why all these people are not represented by the votes, and your answer makes them themselves responsible for not showing up. Which is the case for one of four groups.

    Several arguments were made about extending the vote.

    People who join and vote for very unpopular parties are involved in political communication. It is a statement, a position, a stand.

    The party not being popular is the answer, the response, the antithesis to that stand, that vote, that thesis.

    Analysts say that Canada's NDP (democratic socialist) has consistentently more and better climate action than the policies of the Canadian Green party.

    Let me go further on 'parties' - many parties in many jurisdictions have 'pre elections' to.openly choose directions, policies, priorities, leaders, directions.

    New York City has new famous mayor, and a pretty famous member of the federal.house AOC. Both transformed their party by becoming the candidate.

    The very young organisers won those elections.

    They became the majority party.

    @fragdenstaat Ich bin ja für Wahlrecht ab Geburt, das von Eltern mit wahrgenommen wird mit besonderen Regeln: Für die unter 5jährigen erhält ein Elternteil einen zusätzlichen Stimmzettel. Ab dem vollendeten 5. Lebensjahr setzt ein Elternteil die Kreuze in Anwesenheit des Kindes in einer Zweier-Wahlkabine.
    Ab dem vollendeten 15. Lebensjahr (eher noch 2 Jahre früher) machen Jungendliche eigenständig von ihrem Stimmrecht Gebrauch.

    @fragdenstaat Ich verstehe die Zahlen nicht, sind die wirklich richtig? 16% Nichtwähler*innen bei 75%Wahlbeteiligung? Fehlen da nicht einige %?

    Radikaler und nachhaltiger Schutz von Umwelt und Klima
    Basisdemokratische Selbstverwaltung der Gesellschaft

    @fragdenstaat alle schreien immer nach Demokratie.

    Dann gibt es Wahlen die,scheinbar demokratisch Stattfinden, aber einige sind mit der Wahl nicht einverstanden. Weil man ihr favorisierte Partei nicht gewählt oder warum auch immer. Plötzlich ist Demokrat doch nicht so toll und die ersten schreien nach Verbot.
    Was mir nicht passt wird verboten sehr demokratisch.

    Mir gefällt das Wahlergebnis auch nicht aber alle "Altoparteien" habe doch genau darauf eingearbeitet.
