@elettrona 💯 I completely recognize all of this, especially the double standards across the fediverse. My wife is deafblind. AI helps her and improves her quality of life in everything she does. The assistive side, where AI is genuinely helpful, almost never comes up in these discussions.

The same goes for the development side. I have made accessibility fixes using assisted coding that I wouldn't have gotten done otherwise, or that would have taken a year longer. The code is still reviewed by a human - it is just that the work is actually possible to finish in a reasonable time now instead of sitting in a backlog forever.
