TIL BIS is a thing.

For those who have never read or seen discussion of such megastructure space habitats outside of the occasional science fiction film or novel, the Avalon orbital settlement is one of the many concepts
seriously explored over the past 90 years by the BIS, British Interplanetary Society

It was the space program 20-30 years before there was a space program. They support themselves via the sales of their papers and studies.
