This is absolutely unfathomable. To put this into context:
The descendants of many enslaved people settled in the UK
They paid taxes in the UK
And those taxes paid of debt taken out by the government to "recompense" slave owners for their "financial losses".
In short, the descendants of slaves have paid taxes for their own families enslavement! And this absolute horror of an MP thinks that their descendants across the globe should pay MORE to the UK for the horrors inflicted upon them and their ancestors!? I cannot even begin to parse this 🤦♀️
