"Value" doing some heavy lifting

we can go deeper. I hear you like sprites with your sprites....

noodling...

ooh, lookit

still hammering on with this idea...

ppl seem hung up on whether it's going to be known as
"Super Intelligence"
or
"Artificial Intelligence"

, and I'm over here pointing at the "Intelligence" part. 👈 👀

TIL If you take a dataset in 1,000 dimensions, and calculate the Euclidean distance between a point and its *nearest* neighbor, and then compare it to the distance to its *farthest* neighbor...

the difference approaches zero 😵

Tiny balancing-, oh wait, *actual* balancing goat 🐐 🛞⚖️

Pekka Väänänen's website https://30fps.net/ is a goldmine of well-explained graphics coding snippets and experiments, ranging from palette reduction, compression, dithering, colorspace conversion and beyond. All detailed in notebooks. Highly recommended.

I'm particularly enjoying https://30fps.net/notebooks/image-vq/ - which deals with chopping images into tiles, converting to 1D arrays and using K-Means to quantize and then reproduce the original image with a smaller tileset (lossy ofc, but cool! 😆 )

Although I think the actual "Hungarian" algo was from 1955, and newer algos are used under the hood (since otherwise it is O(n³)

I use this implementation : https://docs.scipy.org/doc//scipy-1.3.2/reference/generated/scipy.optimize.linear_sum_assignment.html?utm_source=copilot.com , passing a 2D matrix of "costs" for each pixel pair, and it returns the indices where the start pixel needs to end up
