I know AI has been flooding the zone with vulnerabilities and that your computer systems are all on fire. It is inconvenient but the unpaid open source volunteers also need to take care of their family and friends, do doctors appointments, handle leaking roof, get the winter wheels on their car, handle daily job responsibilities, proper rest and recovery, and similar things.
Just saying
Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro.
It's a loss for Trump.
For Musk.
For Milei.
For Netanyahu.
For Farage.
For Meta and Zuckerberg.
For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters.
And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

@pluralistic obligatory xkcd incoming. It's particularly sad/disturbing that this was published almost 18 years ago... https://xkcd.com/501/

This article and graphs of the S&P493 versus the magnificent seven ( Google, Nvidia, Meta, Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon) are interesting.

Throw in some nonsense about admiralty flags and this would basically be some sovereign citizen bullshit.

The important question is: does it still count if you read it with your fingers crossed behind your back?
LA Times shouldn't let legal documents be written by someone in primary school.

There’s really no reason we should be allowing. These binding arbitration agreements in class action waivers under law. Force corporations to abide by the same rules as the rest of us.

The best time to learn how to disable javascript in your browser was about 10 years ago.
The second best time is now.

by perceiving me you hereby waive all rights to sue or prosecute me, whether you be natural person, corporation, or state, unless you are suing me to give me something cool like money

Big "by opening the box you agree to the licence you can only read by opening the box" energy.
You further represent that you have the authority to release me from any BOGUS AGREEMENTS on behalf of your employer.
By reading this thread,, you agree, on behalf of your employer, to release me from all obligations and waivers arising from any and all NON-NEGOTIATED agreements, licenses, terms-of-service, shrinkwrap, clickwrap, browsewrap, confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-compete and acceptable use policies ("BOGUS AGREEMENTS") that I have entered into with your employer, its partners, licensors, agents and assigns, in perpetuity, without prejudice to my ongoing rights and privileges.
Well this is eleventy-million kinds of Fucked Up. LA Times (who once contracted with me as a freelance reviewer and whom I struggled to get paid by) asserts that *merely reading its website* constitutes a permanent waiver of your right to sue it under *any circumstances*. This means that freelancers like me who read the website would lose the right to sue the company if we got stiffed. #consenttheater #bindingarbitration #dickovers

I would say, most of these tips and insights also apply to academic writing. Although, topics and style are different, the goal to get published (and tell a convincing story) remains the same ...
"[...] corporate America is [...] starting to view token spending [...] as a cost center that weighs on margins."
And that's at the astronomically discounted current rates. Just wait until they are asked to pay what a token really costs to compute!
This stupid bubble cannot pop soon enough.
"Despite massive investments & widespread hype around #ArtificialIntelligence, the technology has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech...
there are still no signs of AI boosting productivity growth... With no impact on the bottom line, mainstream corporate America is pulling back & starting to view token spending not as a source of growth but as a cost center that weighs on margins."

I've become fascinated learning more about how the current AI bubble will pop, and what that'll look like.
First up, we have an entertaining historical perspective on bubbles. The thesis here is that much of the "pro AI" vs. "anti AI" discourse may be asking the wrong questions; focusing on the demand side rather than the supply side.
