Can't disagree with that. Up with rats!

Amid Starlink crisis, Finnish tech giants announce plan to help Ukraine build its own sovereign satellite system.

"Ukraine needs secure, sovereign, and high-performance satellite communications systems that it controls," ICEYE CEO Rafal Modrzewski said.

This is a perfect riposte to the total failure of the UK's broadcasting regulator Ofcom to actually regulate right-wing channel GB News. I'd certainly be happy to appear: https://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/75420/gb-news-promotes-reform-ofcom-setting-up-woke-tv

Maybe the owner shouldn't have tried to avoid tax, then again, there are businesses that use going into administration as a means of dodging tax...

I wholeheartedly believe that every man should watch this video, because i bet none can grasp quite how terribly women get treated, even at work, without being challenged

@thisisjofrank:
“I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment.

With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording:”

I would wager Musk has never read any serious work of philosophy. His brain, like so many nerds, likely once operated exclusively in the realm of comic books and pulp sci-fi.

(I’d say video games too but we know he pays someone else to play them for him.)

Now it lives in the domain of some bullshit a guy on the internet said.

Sure, why not have a financial crisis at the same time as the AI bubble bursts.

Oh, I see the government has an "AI plan".

Not a single mention of its carbon footprint. This government really doesn't understand that the number one threat we face is not from rogue AI, from economic slowdown, or from Russia, it's from climate collapse.

What is wrong with these people?

Advice for female-presenting persons: if a male doctor asks if you've been under stress lately: SAY NO. Tell him life is great. Don't budge. Make the fucker actually figure out what's wrong.

I don't know a single woman who hasn't gotten the stress brush-off, only to get a real diagnosis later.

It's bullshit. Sometimes lying to your doctor is the right thing to do.

Rats have more empathy than MAGA Republicans.

Many of us would like to see wholesale reform of the UK's second chamber (the Lords)... but while its hereditary element has been the focus of attention, as Huw Macartney (BirminghamU) points out, the real problem is the role of the wealthy (with a concentration of wealth in property - landlords - and corporate shareholdings in the Lords).

Given its role in legislation, the domination by wealth, is a major problem for equitable governance & skews legislation.

This isn't the whole story, but this graphic makes the really important point, that behind low levels of job satisfaction & ongoing health issues, we need to focus on the shift(s) in the economic system, not the changes in jobs (although, unlike this graphic I'd want to argue that these too are significant drivers of people's negative experiences of the world of work & life more generally).
