New Upgrade: Jason and Myke have spent the last few days using the iPhone Duo, and they're ready to report back. And, oh yeah, there's also a new iPad mini and a draft of Apple's forthcoming announcements this week!
Now live on Upgrade:
Happy 25th birthday iPod. I was a little fearful of the original iPod as my job at Apple was getting Asian MP3 manufacturers (Samsung, Creative etc) to write drives for iTunes on MacOS. As it turned out the launch of the iPod made them pay attention and write the drivers as they all thought they had better MP3 players than the iPod. This is my little tribute display.

Q: Wow, isn’t Jason such a good friend that he’s flying out to Boston just to host Dan’s book event?!?!?!?!?
A: ….
Q: Right? RIGHT?
A: I mean, I was going to be there that week anyway…
Q: BOOOOO! BAD FRIEND!
A: Wait, what? I’m still doing the book event! It was just a coincidence! Stop booing!
On Nov. 11 come to Porter Square Books and see @dmoren interviewed… by me! in person!… as a part of the launch of his new book, ETERNITY’S TOMB. It will probably have some strong Six Colors energy, but about books.
The Mac is the Model.

Forgive me, but I needed to start this story by explaining why the Walkman was revolutionary, why CDs struggled to replace the Walkman, and how they invented the MP3 with the help of Suzanne Vega’s voice.
