On the org chart, co-worker’s title is “Archival Archivist.” 🤣

I got to call 911 today. That was fun. 😳

My friend and I witnessed a bad car crash. A teen stopped for us to use the crosswalk. He was rear ended by an older driver. The teen was fine and his car had barely a scratch. The other car was totaled- air bags, the works, but the couple walked away. I mostly feel bad for the teen. He was doing the right thing! He was paying attention! And this is what the universe gave him. Oy.

I have storm FOMO

Possible I’m the last one to find out, but the LOC updated authorities.loc.gov holy moly was it beyond time.

Archivists: do you know of any repositories that still watermark docs before putting them online?

Enjoying my first cup of tea in my new abode, with a little piece of home.

One of the features of my house is that you can enter the basement (where laundry is located) directly from the garage. So after a trip, you just roll your suitcase from vehicle to washing machine. No need for dirty and/or smelly items to even enter the living area. For this I am grateful.

@TeamMidwest Today's view from the sidewalk.

Went to a book talk tonight about "Joy of Costco," by David and Susan Schwartz. My two favorite parking lots (the Amish like to buy in bulk, but I'd fit right in in Japan).

Is it 'normal' to get an email stating an org plans to send you a formal offer to join their team, and then two weeks later still be waiting for it?

@TeamMidwest Do you know who on SAA staff handles membership? Not obvious when looking at the staff directory. Already emailed servicecenter a couple days ago.

Saw this beauty on display in the Yale Gallery of Art yesterday. As I was setting up the photo, a couple approached. They were around my age and as they looked at the machine he sighed and said to her, "That's how old we are."

Yup.

To clarify, the question is as personal to me as asking if I’d be ok switching from Colgate to Crest. It’s presumptive. It doesn’t have anything to do with the requirements of the position. It’s not something that should be discussed in a first interview. There are good people doing good things in all the states.

I was asked in a job interview if I would be ok moving from the blue east coast to the red midwest.

I cannot begin to tell you how uncomfortable this question made me.

Who won the sash??
Really a great sponsor for the pageant since they certainly have a light jacket for April 25.

Considering the number of librarians and archivists I know who have competed, I figure this will have broad appeal. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4073213057/

Wearing a modest swim suit is far easier than applying sunscreen to my entire back (by myself).

In which I remember I have a blog. #bikewesthartford #biketooter https://cyclingarchivist.wordpress.com/2024/04/22/those-who-bike-in-west-hartford/

@foundhistory @jackdougherty Does either of you know of someone local who might be interested in doing some research (paid) for a person in Italy? I can provide more details, but it would involve sitting in front of a microfilm machine going through 20 years (1880-1900) of the Hartford Times.

News you can use: my local farmers' market will have goat cuddling later this month.
