Has anyone made a Sankey diagram for the Fluff Festival

Last time I wrote about Rep. Decker, it was about the 130 different lobbyists who donated to her campaign.

This time I'm diving into the time she repeatedly lied to the public, and explaining _why_ she did it: the way she views her job as a public official.

I wrote a thing about upcoming MA primary; other than locations of early voting/dropboxes which are Cambridge-specific, it applies everywhere in the commonwealth:

The MA legislature is discussing requiring K-12 schools use the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism. It's a bad idea, so I asked School Committee candidates for their thoughts. Here are answers from nine of the candidates: letschangecambridge.us/articles/sch... #CambMA #CambridgeMA

Hey #bostodon ! We are having a Mastodon meetup (tootup?) next Friday the 19th, because @skinnylatte is in town!

Details:
Trillium Beer Garden
In the Greenway by Rowes Wharf
5–7pm (or thereabouts, who knows, we could shut the place down if we are feeling feisty)

I have gotten permission to bring in n/a beverages for those of us who don’t drink. There are food trucks on site and you can bring your own food. (No live lobsters, please.)

It’s convenient to the Red Line, Blue Line, Silver Line, and South Station commuter rail, a slightly longer walk to the Green and Orange lines and North Station, and close to all ferries (you can roll off the Hingham/Hull/Lynn ferry and into the beer garden). AND you can park in the Rowes Wharf or Aquarium Garage, if you are the sort of person that enjoys driving in Boston at rush hour on a Friday.

CVS has new COVID vaccines in Portsmouth NH (and elsewhere in New Hampshire). Self-attestation for access, though who knows what happens when you show up.

Anyone know of unionized print shops (East coast US, or US in general) that I can order printed material from without having to "email or call for a quote"

Loving this demonstration of how MWRA creates the graphs on their their COVID wastewater page: with screenshots, apparently.

Cardinals desperately running around shouting for the fire extinguisher as they realize they dropped the wrong wood in the fireplace.

@itamarst check out https://laminarcollective.com/ if you haven't already. The spring group buy is full, but it sounds like there will be a fall one, plus they've got a load of research you can read through. (I got my heat pump through the fall Laminar buy with Elephant/Forge, and that worked basically fine. The issues weren't too bad and were more Elephant/Forge than Laminar - though might be lessened when they're dealing with fewer customers.)

Any suggestions for good companies to do heat pump installation?

I know there was some discussion here but I forgot to bookmark it, and this instance doesn't have search.

The weird thing about Harvard being in the news is that I keep seeing random photos of my neighborhood on news sites.

Today was spent running around Harvard campus looking for a misdelivered package, refreshing the site where Canadian legal rulings are posted, and finding fun software bugs. How was your day?

For the second time (at least? maybe I'm forgetting something, like a throwaway reference in a Pychon novel) in 20+ years my knowledge of Jewish mysticism is helping me understand some cultural references in media.

The last time was how Katamari Damacy is really just Lurianic Kabbalah in disguise.

This time it's the novel "A Highly Unlikely Scenario". I'm enjoying it so far but I don't know how confusing it is if you haven't heard of e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardes_(legend)

Ordering cheap ($0.60 per each + $30 shipping) COVID tests from Altruan.com (in Germany) before Trump decides to get rid of de minimus tariff exmeption for Europe, and I have learned that this particular test has "No equipment required, pain -free removal of nasal dancing".

Oooh, graupel! Or hail? Some sort of solid precipitation anyway.

Apparently I can vote for Harvard board of overseers. Anyone know who I should vote for? #harvard
