Starting a new quilt! This pile of leftovers from #TemperatureQuiltEffika (plus a few other assorted fabrics) will become a Chroma quilt by Tara Lee Stitchery. I am doing the 16 swirl variation, with a central octagon because I dont want to have a giant seam lump in the middle of the quilt. #quilting
If you put that you use AI in your bio I am blocking you btw
I came up with a new pantry staple/low spoons recipe tonight: cheesy beans and stuffing
Preheat oven to 400F
Mix 6oz box of stuffing with undrained 28oz can of tomatoes
Spray 9x13" casserole dish with nonstick spray
Drain 3 cans of beans (I had kidney, great northern, and chickpeas)
Dump beans into dish and spread out
Add half a bag of cheese/1 cup shreds (I used mozzarella) on beans
Add stuffing/tomato mix on top
Bake for 20-30 minutes to melt cheese and heat through #food

Between that and the #effikaFunnyCrows hashtag you'll see the whole journey.
I have finished the #effikaFunnyCrows quilt! It will be for my sister who likes crows and dragonflies.
Pattern: Funny Crows by Sasha Quilts, available at her Etsy.
I learned free-motion #quilting for this and I am very pleased with my first real attempts!
THE GODS OF QUILTING HAVE SMILED UPON ME TODAY!!! look at how the decorative stitch ends right on top of the beginning of the round!! (I will unpick one stitch and it will be perfect!)
I thought this stitch looked like crow tracks, so I used it on the binding.

What do you guys think they're going to use all the new extra space in the middle for? Facebook style reactions?
Behold! The power of vector art! (I traced a dragonfly in Inkscape then made it smaller & rotated it as I copied & pasted it around. Printed it out, punched through the lines, then traced it on the quilt.)
I had the PERFECT thread for these guys in my stash, too. They shine like jewels!

I'm doing it... I am freeing the motion of quilting... #effikaFunnyCrows #quilting
I don't know what it is but when I free-motion quilt to Jimmy Ear World's album Clarity I have far fewer technical issues with the thread. It came up after my ambient playlist was over and I was halfway through the album when I realized I had not needed to stop and re-thread.
Thank you Jimmy Eat World for existing, generally. I am glad I imprinted on you over weezer in the 90s
If you send me an AI flyer I unsubscribe from your list!
Great way to tell me I don't matter as a customer. You can't even be bothered to make WordArt and you want my sale? Get bent.
A lot of people don't realize that a heavy hammer is an integral part of a #quilting kit. They ought to include one in those bonus packages dealers love to throw in, with a little Corian countertop sample to hammer on. Nothing gets a seam intersection flatter! #effikaFunnyCrows

I love the Wikipedia links from this bot!
Wikipedia: here is a nice plant with pretty common references, oh and also and a very specific finding on its distribution from a paper about holocene plant refugia and the carpathian basin
(The AI Believer friend discovered the adobe suite lookalikes. I had to put my phone down for the evening and do Something Real lest I destroy the group chat forever. So I decided I would figure out and practice and finally quilt at least one FMQ block tonight.)
I wasn't going to echo the wavy line but it looked so plain and now I've got a fun squiggle and oooooohh i think I get why free-motion quilts are so densely quilted. #effikaFunnyCrows #quilting
I have free-motion quilted on a real quilt! I was so tired of turning corners for the other parts that I had to give it a go. Maybe I will try some loopy stuff for the grey background.
Also, why does nobody mark feet at the 1/8th mark? I keep having to get the Sharpie out. #quilting #effikaFunnyCrows
When a problem comes along
Zig-zag stitch it!
Before the quilt is done & gone
Zig-zag stitch it!
When something's going wrong
Zig-zag stitch it!
Now zig it into shape!
Shape it up, get straight
Go forward, move ahead
Try to detect it, it's not too late
To zig-zag it, zig it good
(Some tension issues became known during basting.)

What's fun about my stomach is that sometimes it's impossible to tell "toxicosis from contaminated food" and "decided I didn't want to work" apart as they both give me the same result
anyway I was going to post this at like midnight for a fun "who up Xing they Y" joke but decided to save you all the imagery
I wish this machine had a metal housing so I could keep my needleminder closer, but the steel threadtenna seems to do nicely. #quilting
