The 2026 Kakapo breeding season is over and the population has gone from 235 to 325!
For the first time in 40 years there will be kakapo that are unnamed (though not off the books entirely). It stirs something inside me to think of them receding from the realm of human labels, to become an anonymous voice in the forest night.

It's made funnier by all the parts of patreon that do in fact desperately need a redesign. Like the graphs for creators are so uninformative you've gotta scrape the points and redo them in a spreadsheet
The new Patreon home page is hilarious. White on white type until a 7MB image loads in, and all the while it's trying to load 22MB of fonts (!!!?). Then once it's loaded, it somehow turns the scrollwheel sensitivity in Firefox down to like 5%, so you cannot escape the fullscreen hero image.
There are bad web designers but this is more like IndieGoGo got a deep cover operative in place or something.
