someone should invent a search engine where if you put in two keywords it finds pages that have both the keywords

All I'm saying is this wouldn't have happened if people just learned perl

Dear future #FOSDEM speakers / devroom organizers / attendees, will you take the #FOSDEMPledge ?

HUGE thanks to @janl for this brilliant initiative! ❤️

These are dispiriting times for many touring performers - Birmingham , Cardiff and London all proving hard sells - a deep sense of personal failure

I’d like to take a minute to thank all the volunteer maintainers of FOSS projects and infrastructure. You keep our digital world afloat and you’re not getting the recognition or renumeration you deserve.

I’ve put together a few snacks, please take one of your choosing as a token of my thanks.

Unless you live under a stone, everybody will have heard about PHP today.

Now, please realize that the vast majority of Open Source Software, like PHP, and including PHP, is largely maintained by **unpaid volunteers**.

If you agree that this is inconceivably irresponsible: let this be your call to action and FUND THE OPEN SOURCE PROJECTS YOUR ORGANIZATION RELIES ON.

Saying "Thanks" once in a while is not enough and does not make open source sustainable.

An "author" trying to defend his AI use in writing because "When I write, there are plot holes and I change tenses and end up with problems, I don't see why having AI rewrite it is a bad thing"

That's a first draft, dipshit, they're all like that. Then when you read back over it you think "Oh I changed that name and ah, tiny plot hole there and ..." and you fix it.

Dipshit.

Yesterday we got informed that the #DEIB devroom at #fosdem which we pitched with @Gina @_elena got rejected.

The flood of positive messages we've received on mastodon over the past 24h gives me hope for an even more inclusive & diverse future of FOSS projects. FOSDEM is not mirroring the entire FOSS scene. I'm very grateful for all the support many of you are expressing. 🧡

@dentangle summarized it in a perfect way! The devroom *is* happening here because of YOU.

Today's Internet Apocalypse is brought to you by the letters P, H, and P along with the numbers 4, 56, 66, 115, 155, 156, 230, and 237

This is how you write release notes! Keep them brief, and say what bug you fixed. And also you should note that if you listen to music on your phone and you don't use Smart Shuffle then you are doing it wrong. #Apple, of course, also did it wrong when they removed #AlbumShuffle from their player. #SmartShuffle's raison d'être is to fix Apple's bug.

hay geospatial folk, just a warning: pyproj has a dependency on certifi (the package you need to update to deal with the 4 thing)

You almost certainly have something that needs updating today.
