(2/3) Given that the easier to use, light crude oil is much more apt for the production of products like gasoline, kerosine, Diesel, LPG while heavy crude requires massive, complex, and expensive refineries with additional units (**cokers**, **hydrocrackers**) to "crack" the large, heavy molecules into lighter, more valuable ones explains why one is more attractive in terms of yields, cost and complexity than the other.
(1/3) What many do not understand about the Venezuelan resources in oil: It's very **heavy, tar-like high-sulfur (sour) crude** for the most part. Main refineries for this particular crude are owned by Chevron (who have continually received crude from Venezuela) and in Shandong province(at least one of the stolen tankers was going to go there, similar to the 2020 seizure). So here's a visual of the chemical issue.
Not reassuring. It's not the first time #wiretaps are wiretapped by adversaries. Think Greece/vodafone. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/10/reports-china-hacked-verizon-and-att-may-have-accessed-us-wiretap-systems/ #security #breach #adversaries #threat #ISP
When infected with #SarsCoV2 , the body produces a series of immune responses. One of them involves platelets, sticking to immune cells to form clumps of cells in the bloodstream. In a study using image-based flow cytometry, a team of researchers demonstrated a rapid rise in concentrations of platelet aggregates in patients admitted to intensive care with #Covid infections. This enabled them to identify a biomarker for predicting the risk of severe illness. **#healthcare** **#healthcarenews **

Social media fragmentation & historical analogy.
'We are trained to look at the “fall” of Rome as something decisive, sudden, and violent, which completely changed the character of life for everyone involved. In reality the “fall” wasn’t because outside forces wanted to destroy Rome—they just wanted to control it. There was a slow and steady degradation of the services that the Empire could offer, and people [responded] to this with smaller and localised communities.'

#privacy #dataprotection #GDPR #safeharbour
