My cheap electronic load got an upgrade. I have 3D printed an enclosure. I love it 😀 😍 ❤️

Enough of this nonsense xx

Today I learned that a rice cooker works because of a specially designed magnet that loses its magnetism at just over 100C (Curie point).

When you switch it on, a piece of metal sticks to the magnet, completing the circuit and heating on high. Heat stays on high until all of the water is absorbed or boiled off, at which point the temp rapidly climbs and the magnet drops the switch.

I'm fascinated by #PiDP11 software, looking forward to buy the proper hardware.
For now I built myself a case, modeled in #FreeCAD around STEP-files of a #RaspberryPi and a 7" HDMI display. The design is inspired by #DEC #VT100 terminals common in the late '70s.
The thing hangs on the door of a cabinet in my office, it will be degraded to a simple monitor as soon as I get the #PiDP case. It has a similar size and will hang at the same door.

#London #Transport #Museum has received a £237,000 grant from The National #Lottery Heritage Fund to protect its collection of 3,314 historic transport signs at its Acton Depot.

The Acton Access project will improve storage, conservation and public access to signs spanning more than 150 years of London's transport #history. The collection includes station signs, bus stop flags, maps and advertising panels, reflecting the evolution of the iconic London Transport roundel.

Museum staff, volunteers and local communities will document the signs and uncover their stories. Training and work experience placements will help develop heritage skills, while duplicate signs may be transferred to other museums.

The project aims to preserve the collection and the memories linking London's transport network to its communities for future generations.

Bit of a strange drink, suppose I'll have to get used to it as have 23 more cans to drink.

Here's the article I read vs the original headline I saw.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/other/kevin-mccloud-why-ill-never-buy-a-new-electric-car/ar-AA2ehmqp

Typical media with their click bait titles and misinformation.

Headline: "Kevin McCloud: Why I’ll never buy another electric car"

Reality: He stated he doesn't see the need for a NEW car as a second hand EV would be sufficient.

He also complains that cars are getting bigger and all look the same and questions the car industry

"In other industries, he argues, a growing number of smaller manufacturers can find customers by offering something distinctive, including sustainability"

Hi, any recommendations for great illustrators/painters and other creatives to follow her? :)

The new sight glass fits!

Unfortunately, I just noticed there is a bearing needed for mounting the turret head that did not come with my box of parts, so now I have to wait for a replacement for that.

My eldest has just introduced me to Sprang weaving.
“ Sprang cloth has been found around the globe, dating back thousands of years. Samples have been found in North and South America, Europe, China, and Egypt.”

They are giving it a try.
It feels like something I should have heard of already.
