Older laptop (XPG Xenia 15, IIRC) wasn't able to boot Haiku OS (kernel debugger land, which is better than a panic) or Redox OS (some sort of Rust panic/backtrace loop that very slowly writes PCI IDs on the screen).
So I guess *BSD is basically my only slop-free (or lower-slop) option unless I buy a desktop or something. 🤷

I keep running into situations where existing tools are annoying/deficient somehow, or they've gone off the rails with "AI". I could make a new tool, but learning GTK or KDE from nothing seems impossible. KDE in particular is painfully undocumented, and requires you to be a Qt expert already… and the state of Qt "getting started" docs is horrifying, too.
I wonder if Dear IMGUI or something has Python bindings. 🤔 I should look that up.

Passkeys don't migrate, and going through all of your passwords, then logging into each site to delete the passkey is painful.
A nice long random password, plus TOTP/OTP/"Authenticator" codes are best.

So what's an alternative to Calibre that lets me organize epubs, edit the metadata, and copy them to my Kobo? I see lots of epub readers, but I almost never read them on my laptop.
I think the Kobo Clara BW just shows up as a USB device, so that might not be a feature I need. Maybe I can just organize them in directories…
