I think it‘s worth knowing what they’re building because many people will use an OS like this soon, whether it‘s Omarchy or something else.
Like agentic coding, like or dislike it, this idea is gonna spread.
While I understand perfectly well the reasons _not_ to donate to the omarchy foundation, I was wondering why large companies _did_ decide to do it.
Turns out Omarchy is a little more than a nice wrapper around Arch now, they‘re trying to build an „agentic OS“. That‘s what triggers the money flows, apparently (and DHH‘s problematic views don’t seem to stop them).
@reece I just watched ypur blue skies episode. Very well done, some much needed nuance on the topic. I learned a lot.
I‘m really curious as you brought up the Tokaido Shinkansen as a positive example, what do you think about the delays on the Maglev Shinkansen? Has Japan forgotten how to build things?
Meanwhile, #climatechange is still a thing
Neil Saravanamuttoo of https://betterottawa.ca/ is considering a run for mayor. That would be quite refreshing, he seems completely genuine (and clearly qualified). I hope enough people sign up to support (https://betterottawa.ca/thethousand/)
As a consequence, nobody would do anything and we would all be dead.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
If everyone only did things they are good at, nobody would be good at anything.
Who Broke The Internet, a podcast by @pluralistic, hits hard. Recommended.
