Does anyone know where to find out what year(s) that auto makers started putting active telemetry (aka telematics, or cellphone cards) into their cars?
Asking because I'm trying to help a relative find an un-enshittified, non-connected car.

NEWS: Jared Kushner reportedly had a secret Dubai bank account holding hundreds of millions of dollars from Azerbaijan, and he allegedly used it as a slush fund to pay a warlord, a mercenary, and a former hit man. There is no end to the corruption and depravity of these people.

Just when you thought Flock's business model couldn't grow more fascist, along comes the #FlockDrone
Flock Safety is arming US police departments with drones that launch themselves, hit 60 mph, chase fleeing cars and read plates before a patrol car even rolls. Sounds slick until you hear this: In Roseville, Calif., police found 71% of Flock’s stolen-car alerts had a misread plate. Picture that mistake at 400 feet, locked onto a car, your kid’s car or a neighbour who did nothing wrong. I want a human near that launch button. Did the drone tail the right vehicle?

I didn't, but I guess someone probably made a bet on Kalshi about this.

But as long as they feel good about themselves, #AmIRight ?
