FYI: McGill's, owned by the Easdale brothers - among the top Scots on the Sunday Times Rich List - who gave a “substantial” six-figure donation to Labour's election fund and explicitly say they want to help Scottish Labour “remove the SNP from power.”

Looking from the impressive North Bridge, linking Old & New Towns, across the huge expanse of glass-roofed Waverley Station, the Castle & Scott Monument prominent on the #Edinburgh skyline

Yes, you get views like this just ambling home from work, when you live in a city like this...

Ye gods, though, I am exhausted yet again. Good day with chum, but that's all I have in the tank. Home, couple of things to check, then likely flake out for an early night yet again.

Energy levels just not bouncing back between the increased meds and the horrible cold my immune system can't hit back at, just utterly drained. Plans to watch second of B-movie double bill BFI sent to review will need to wait.

Good walk with chum, then stopped for rest & drinks. After a few weeks were about to go, smelled food bring delivered to a table nearby & thought the heck with it. Let's order here & dine before home.

Why not? Scottish delicacy Cranachan for dessert

Please buy flower seeds to avoid boxes to be that sad...

Watching a YouTube channel I like while munching lunch. I do like the presenter, but ye gods, he cannot pronounce Scottish place or family names (he's an Englishman). He just described famous 39 Steps author Buchan as "Bew-Kan". Yeesh. God help him if he has to pronounce Gaelic of Welsh names...

The Round Church, in a magnificent location at the head of the village of Bowmore's Main Street on the Isle of Islay. It was built in the 1760s with, it is said, no corners for the devil to hide in. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/islay/roundchurch/index.html

"Can your heart stand the shocking facts about grave robbers from outer space?!?!"

This evening's viewing: the BFI kindly sent me a new Blu-Ray release of Ed Wood's supposdly "one of the worst of all time" films (of course now a cult flick), Plan 9 From Outer Space.

As ever, review will follow later on @PhilEdwards 's Live For Films

Something rather lovely for a change: this unlikely romance has me thinking of one of my favourite films, A Matter of Life and Death https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2026/sep/06/pilot-air-traffic-controller-love-story

It was windy and chilly. I had too light a jacket on initially and I had to go back to wear something warmer,

Extra long sleep, interrupted by coughing fits (weakened immune system can't shake this horrible cold), still very low energy yet again, despite extra sleep, but determined to go through to see dad.
