Sigh, junior developer, can you please stop pinging me for another AI slop PR review every 20 minutes?

The eternal confusion when you follow too many transfems whether FFS is being used to say "For Fucks Sake" or "Facial Feminization Surgery".

Obviously, redrawing lines on an org chart and changing names of orgs and teams is a key factor in unlocking hidden productivity, and delivering shareholder value.

I wish Mastodon had a convenient way to mute a conversation thread that you've not participated in. Like it's perfectly fine that people I follow are having long conversations in another language, but I can't read it and it doesn't look interesting or relevant, so it'd be nice to just mute the thread.

Bring back "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"

Except every time they show off some other enormously expensive thing, show what it costs, and then show what it would cost for a person of say, 80% net worth.

I.e.
50 room mansion on a private beach in the Caribbean: $200M
Percentage of their (known) net worth: 0.1%
For a person with a net worth of 100k, that house would cost $100

There should be a term for that "oh crap the cleaning people are coming, we need to put stuff away and hide it so they don't move it somewhere we can't find it ever again!"

Obviously AI isn't alive and doesn't deserve human rights or politeness or whatever else.

But as part of "AI psychosis", many people do end up personifying AI agents, having romantic feelings about them, entrusting them with deep secrets, and so on.

Which then makes it disturbing when people who may have treat agents as slaves, or "torture" them or otherwise treat agents in "abusive" ways. Especially as far too many people see women and minorities as "less than human".

Abusing an AI isn't actually hurting something that's alive and has feelings. But it does say something about the person who is doing the abuse.

Oh wait, that's right, I gave my bottom surgery surgeon permission to post my surgery results on their website. So yeah there's probably a picture of my vagina out there somewhere. Hunh.

Have you ever posted a naked picture/video of yourself on the internet?
(Face obscured or not)
(Large group - you don't know most of the people in the group/small group - you know most of the people in the group)

If I, a highly intelligent, extremely technical, very aware of AI, and very capable at navigating bureaucratic bullshit person can't get my issue resolved because of an impossible to navigate AI bot that refuses to let you talk to a human no matter how hard you try, below average IQ and skills people have no fucking hope. And below average means FIFTY PERCENT OF PEOPLE! What the fuck are companies doing when over half of their customers can't even get their issues resolved no matter how hard they try? I hope "disruptive entrants to the market" start showing up and bragging about "talk to an actual human" level support. Even if it comes at a price premium.

Lizardman's Constant

Coined by Scott Alexander Siskind in 2013 in a post titled Lizardman's Constant is 4%, responding to a Public Policy Polling statement that "four percent of Americans believe lizardmen are running the Earth".

Just a reminder that small percentages in survey results are very often trolls, misunderstood the question, insincere, or misclicked (in addition to people who actually believe the ridiculous question).

Boomer politicians, fuckin retire already.

I don't think there's a single politician over 75 that I will be genuinely sad when they die besides MAYBE Bernie (though he's been having worse and worse takes recently too).

Okay, signed another year lease for this place, maybe I'll finally get around to hanging some pictures and posters on the wall ... (We have been here for 2 years already and not a single one is on the walls yet...)

Realistically, you'd probably need to stop by charging stations sometimes when there's long distances without good places to stop, but at least you could minimize consumption.

A dream of having a solar powered camper van. Even if it meant you could only drive every other day or two while the batteries recharge, just slowly meander your way around the country consuming nothing but food and seeing what's out there.

Just let the Sphinx ask me riddles to get past the gate. Don't make me argue with an AI bot to talk to a human.

When you have a problem that you KNOW requires a human to solve - like literally the documented process says a human needs to have a video call with you to see you are who you say you are - but you have to try and trick the fucking AI bot into letting you submit a support ticket.

After our world's recent bend towards right wing fascism, I started pining for more technocrats in power. But these days, I think even most of the likely people to be technocrats have their brains cooked by AI too.

Saw a take the other day that boiled down to "well, lots of FOSS now allows AI submissions, so might as well go back to Windows. And boy howdy ... Get far far More AI slop, and spyware to boot.
