Great news! :HappyTurtle:
I don't think I've ever seen so many tortoises in one photo! 😍

Whoa. 😮
If you haven't read liza's thread about NASA's Little Old Ladies and her *amazing* mom then find a few minutes and read it. Especially women. And white men. No, make that all men.
Do it for your mom.
I guess google has had enough of our shit about Lake Ontario. 😂 I just tried to make a correction for a "missing place" including a screenshot showing the *correct* name for the "Tourist Attraction" but pressing the Submit button literally doesn't do anything. It just sits there, no message, no response. I guess they didn't appreciate my "correction" for mislabeling the Gulf of Mexico a few months ago? 🙄

I so agreed with @adhdeanasl's thoughts on #AltText that I decided to do an informal #experiment where I checked the alt text on the first fifty currently #Trending posts that had #images or #videos, and noted which were full, complete-ish descriptions and which were crap and/or slop.
Out of 50 "Trending" posts:
Descriptive Alt Text - 29 (58%)
Unhelpful Alt Text - 21 (42%)
I think those are TERRIBLE numbers! 😖😠 Surely we can do better!

So I guess #WaywardWaymos are a thing now?
Unoccupied, driverless #Waymo #cars have invaded a neighborhood near us, repeatedly #driving into a dead-end road, around the cul-de-sac, then driving out. They're not there to pick up passengers. But there are plenty of children and pets in the area.
The cars are lost. And on auto-repeat. :eyeroll:

THEY DO WHAT?? 😮
"Rice plants and #VenusFlytraps share something in common that was not scientifically documented until recently. Using a faint smell to lure caterpillars into a trap, rice plants killed early-stage fall armyworm larvae by trapping them in a spikelet, the part at the end of a rice panicle where individual grains develop."

Has anyone bought any of the t-shirts that are offered in the Mastodon Shop? I want to buy one but I'm not sure what size to get. The website measures t-shirt sizes by "chest width," which must be an European thing cuz I've never seen clothes measured like that in the US.
My chest is about 20 inches wide, which would put me in a Small size according to their size chart. But I normally wear an extra large so I don't think that's right.
Can anyone explain? Help!

"In space, everyone can hear if you can't pee."
This is funny as hell, especially the second video, which I knew nothing about until today. And I'm a space fan!
"It was about 65 minutes after #liftoff, the #Integrity #spacecraft 800 miles above the Indian #Ocean and moving at about 16,000 miles per hour, when the historic words were spoken: 'Integrity, Houston, toilet is powered.'"

On #trump cancelling #US #WindEnergy projects:
"Not because the #energy is bad. Not because the projects failed. Not because there is any credible #evidence that offshore #Wind turbines pose a genuine threat to #NationalSecurity or #marine health. The federal government buying back its own permits because the current occupant of the White House lost a lawsuit in #Scotland twenty years ago and never got over it."

I don't see any way out of this. Neither do the experts.
"... none of the [simulation] participants – many of them senior former military and government officials – considered the scenario unrealistic, especially after the supreme court’s decision in Trump v United States, which granted the president criminal immunity for official acts."

Is your tv connected to the open internet? I'm referring to the tv itself, not any peripherals that may be attached.
This is a case where I wish I could add more than four answers because I'd really like to drill down for more details, like "Yes, but not in a way that enables tracking."
Boosts would be great!
