@D_J_Nathanson I do appreciate the companies that give you the option to be put on a silent hold.

I WAS A STAR FEATURE IN SHOW-AND-TELL FOR @HG'S ELDER POPPLER, SO TECHNICALLY THE HOMEWORK ATE YOUR DOG.

💜 Plea for snacks & supplies for my special education classroom. This year seems even more dire for my kiddos, and we are going through everything faster than usual.

I am including my classroom wishlist link, but there are other ways to help listed in my bio...boosting helps too!

If you have any questions, please feel free to message me.

Thank you 💜

Does anybody have direct experience with any FreeBSD desktop distros (list at https://freebsdfoundation.org/freebsd-project/resourcesold/guide-to-freebsd-desktop-distributions/)?

Asking for a union local that needs to deWindows a couple of laptops. I don't love the directions Linux is going, but these laptops have to serve novice-grade users.

Long shot but does anyone on here do cad cam scanning and machining of Micarta or G10? I want to have custom scales (handle pieces) made for a knife.

I find it weird when people request to follow without interacting with any of my posts in any way. What is that?

Earlier this week, protesters gathered outside Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center to demand his freedom.

“You should not be in solitary confinement with a bullet in your neck after you’ve been shot with your child in the car,” said New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

If someone would give me a space and pay for my supplies I'd run a repair clinic for them and we could learn to solider try to take things apart and fix them.

But that would just help maybe two or three dozen kids and there are 100s.

And you need a variety of activities. Some of them might even want to work. We could have a math tutoring center and it could employ a few teens to teach elementary kids arithmetic. But, you'd need to pay someone to run that.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this AI removal system for macOS 27?

https://github.com/omlahore/RemoveMacAI

In v27, Apple removed “Intelligence” from the UI, so it can’t be disabled as with previous versions.

I disabled everything Siri (and what I thought was Intelligence). But I can still see these chips in Messages. If it’s suggesting replies, it’s reading my messages.

What’s more, the language model consumes 27GB of space. WTF‽

I’ve read the code in RemoveMacAI, but I’m not knowledgable enough to be sure it’s safe. I’d love to know what y’all know.

Anybody have dark sky advocate connections around the Lone Pine, CA area? Can the town slap them with some nuisance lighting fines? That would be funny.
