    I just released an update to my #iOS Intersector app that vastly improves the map data speeds and reliability. This is an app that simply identifies intersections when out and about, a common bit of orientation info we #Blind folks need when traveling. Intersector tells you about your nearest or upcoming intersections, tells you your compass direction, has a Scan mode where you can move your phone around to discover what intersections are immediately around you, and has a Live mode where it will speak your intersections as you walk or drive around. Great for figuring out where you are in a bus or a rideshare, or reorienting when coming out of a subway, etc. It has Siri shortcuts and an Apple Watch companion app. Check it out! apps.apple.com/us/app/intersec

    @SteveSawczyn @technocounselor I can port it over to Android, but I don't want to deal with their awful Closed Tester requirement to get it up on the Play Store. I don't have access to 12 Android testers, and I'd have to pay to use one of the app testing services which is annoying for a free app.

    @SteveSawczyn @twynn @TheQuinbox @technocounselor I actually already have a working Android port of the app, I just need to work out some of the quirks going from iOS to Android, Google Watch support, and seeing how well the app intents work with Googl Assistant/Gemini before I can set up a Closed Test. I'd absolutely appreciate it if you could get 12 Android users together for that test!

    @Marconius Is it possible to reorder or customize the the voice announcement for live mode? For example, while some people may like the "upcoming:" prefix, I find that it's three unneeded syllables. This is a really cool app.

    @twynn I think I'll drop the Upcoming from Live mode altogether, since Upcoming is the only way Live Walking and Driving modes work. I'll adjust that in the 1.3.6 update. :)

    @Marconius Thank you. I assume that it will list parallel first then perpendicular dependent on direction?

    @twynn Correct. The first street announced will be whichever street your GPS location is determined to be on based on your heading and movement, and the second street in the announcement is always the cross street. If you encounter a split intersection, where the left and right streets forming the intersection don't match, then you'll always hear the parallel street you are on first, followed by the cross street to the left, then the one on the right.
