A couple of months ago I got a message from someone on a woodworking forum. "Are you the same Quixoticgeek as the one on Mastodon that posts a lot?" I replied yes. I was then offered some hand spun wool for a weaving project I had talked about on the forum, they asked if I was going to a disc world convention in the UK. I said I wasn't, but I knew people that were. A plan was hatched. Wool was given to @clanwilliam at the con, who today passed the wool on to me. Fediverse mail works!
