I had a Halloween visitor land on my deck rail last night, and was able to get an extreme close-up! #photography

Snow in the moonlight #photography

I wish we lived in the world of D&D, where taking a nice long rest is all it takes to cure all your maladies. Instead, we live in a world where you can go to bed perfectly healthy and wake up with new injuries.

We had our first real snow of the season Sunday through Sunday night, and I had a tour in Yellowstone Monday morning. We had beautiful conditions to see the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone! #photography

It was a beautiful morning for a hike in the middle of nowhere! 🙂 #photography

Good morning! #photography

Did you know there's a project starting up to mine gold in the middle of one of the richest wildlife habitats in North America, in the middle of Lake Clark National Park in Alaska? This mine would damage an important ecosystem for short-term monetary gains for the already wealthy.

Just back from a two week trip to Alaska, and it was bear-ific! #photography #alaska #bears

Would you like some pecans?

One thing that has bothered me for years about the Mac security community is that they have nearly all opted to stay in the Nazi bar (ie, Twitter… not X, I’ll never call it that). There are some exceptions here, of course, but when I left Twitter, I lost touch with a lot of friends. 😔

We had this little bear (about the size of a large dog) grazing on clover outside our house yesterday afternoon. How cute can you get? #photography #bears

I made this a few years ago, to compare the size of the entire screen on an original 128k Mac with the size of the Safari icon on modern macOS. Enjoy!

I saw this distinguished gentleman yesterday, sitting in a little alcove in a sheer cliff. I have no idea how he got there! #photography

We discovered the Bleu Horses (not a spelling error) out near Three Forks, Montana yesterday. They're quite interesting sculptures, made by Jim Dolan, that have features that move in the wind. Manes and tails, obviously, from the photos... but also some of them will move their heads when the wind gusts! #photography #montana

This week is International Dark Sky Week! Get out and enjoy dark skies sometime this week, and learn more about why it's important here:

I had the opportunity to stay at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch in Yellowstone last week, while taking a class for Yellowstone and Montana Master Naturalist certifications. Being in the park for a week straight, with no cell service or wifi, was amazing! We saw lots of wildlife, but the highlight was many different coyote interactions, revealing a more social nature than people typically attribute to these animals. #photography #yellowstone

Remember when the Gulf of America was the dumbest thing? Yeah. Good times.

I just saw a little ermine bouncing along the side of the road near my house. It didn't sit still long, but I managed to get two quick shots before it disappeared into the woods. I got very lucky with this one!

Believe it or not, these teeny little critters can take down a large snowshoe hare many times their size. #photography
