Preparing a care package for the Harmata air recon unit on the Ukrainian front: protein bars, warmer packs, coffee, cough drops, etc. Winter is coming. Donate to help me send more (my personal money only goes so far).

1. Saw an announcement on php.net when looking at docs.
2. Only minor contracting xp, as I was still in college.
3. I paid myself. They had a student rate.
4. I liked the takeaways from real-world experience, and how easy it was to chat with the people who made my programming language or who organized the event (they were just normal people!) Nothing to dislike as I was young, impressionable, and had no point of reference.
If you ever attended a tech conference, this mini-survey is for you (you can reply in private too).
1. How did you discover you first tech conference?
2. How much experience did you have at that time?
3. Who paid for the ticket: you or your employer?
4. What did you like and didn't like about this first experience?
Feel free to add anything else.

I very rarely see such behavior on the Fedi, and it fills me with hopelessness.
You can be a better person. You can feel angry and exhausted without hurting those on your side of the struggle.
Really sad to see people I respected take a big dump on PHP today. It was unnecessary. This is open source. Things run on too few donations and mostly unpaid work.
These people work hard. They deal with entitled users in bug trackers. They sift through slop reports and slop contributions. They have to defend their infra from thieves who can afford to lose more money in an hour than they will not make in a lifetime. They have to drop everything when their unpaid project has an emergency.
The Ticketmaster app and site are so broken, you'd think it's been build by a single teenage hobbyist. The login page *in the app* has been spinning for 3 minutes. Not the actual login, just the page where I still need to put credentials. WTAF.
Relatable as fuck.

I honestly don't understand why people copy-paste walls of slop instead of saying things concisely in their own words. If I wanted to talk to a slopmachine, I wouldn't use a meat proxy for it.
It makes me irrationally angry that people think it's acceptable to inflict this on others. If they can't be bothered to write it, why should I be bothered to read it? I treat it as basically spam.
I'm consolidating all my pictures from various services in one place. Folder 1/17 sorted into: photos/memes/trash.
For your enjoyment, here's something from the memes folder.
I don't have the words to describe my level of fatigue with all the bullshit. I don't even want to buy anything anymore, just to avoid interacting with companies in such an incompetent and toxic climate.
How do y'all manage to not disappear into the woods?
8 times my payment was rejected while the guy from the bank was on the phone and assured me that he fixed it, then wanted to hang up because "his job was done". I thought quality has reached its lowest point, yet companies still find a way to continue falling deeper.
I have to deal with LLMs at work and it's taking such a toll on my mental health. First, I feel dirty because I have fundamental ethical objections. Second, it has no judgment and has inherent problems that are literally not fixable, yet we're supposed to ignore this. Third, it feels *exactly the same* as having several toxic people on the team. I still love my job. This fucking bubble can't pop soon enough. The thought that it will all end is the only thing keeping me sane.
You can't spell congress without con. Why people in the US keep electing oligarchs is beyond me. They don't hide it: they flaunt it. Even bribery is legal there via PACs. Corruption is not limited to the US, but holy cow is it rampant there.
RIP GitHub. I guess we won't be integrating as often as we'd like. Companies should start considering alternatives. Actions have outages up to several times per week.
it's not like they can't afford hundreds of billions to invest in data centres, lol.
Working on a side project (video game) and TDD-ing some domain objects that I thought would take me half a day. Then 15 lines of code later "oh, that's all it really needs to do".
I love the practices I follow. It makes seemingly big and complicated things almost absurdly simple.

PeerTube 8.2.0 added a much better filter UI on the admin side. It will make some tasks so much easier. I love it! /cc @peertube
